Tassie leading the way

This week in the Senate I talked about the amazing work Harbro Engineering is doing in Tassie. If we’re talking about getting Australian manufacturing back on track, we need to back in people like these guys. They make parts for the military, mining and aerospace. Harbro are leading global innovation right from the heart of Tassie.

PARLIAMENT

There’s one week left to go in Parliament and there’s a bit on the agenda: Industrial relations, the National Anti-Corruption Commission and Restoring Territory Rights. These are all big issues, and I know there’s a lot of different perspectives out there. Tammy and I are doing the best we can to consult with the for and against arguments and do our research to make sure we’re doing the job Tasmanians elected us to do.

I’m also keen to take the vote on my committee about Australia’s Disaster Resilience. I’m hearing there’s bi-partisan support, so I’m keen to get the ball rolling.

Jacqui is standing with a train that looks like Thomas the Tank Engine.

I also want to give a quick shout out to Don River Railway. I went to visit them last week, and heard about their plans to get a passenger train going from Devonport to Penguin. It would be absolutely amazing for the North-West Coast! We just need to get the Federal Government to stump up the cash.
